On the plains of Sudan, our two adventurers are petitioned by farmers who dream of making the desert bloom, but the banks have no faith in them and all the while the waters of the Nile are there, available in large quantities.  Geoffroy and Loïc pursue their journey north and arrive in Egypt, at Aswan, after crossing Lake Nasser by boat. This country is a vast desert where 95% of the population lives on only 5% of the territory: along the Nile! The Arab Spring is opening a new era in this Egypt that is seeking a future that befits it. Egypt has a population of 88 million, but that should swiftly rise to over 130 million by 2050. How will Egypt cope with the increase in its population? From the city of Aswan to the Nile Delta, our two brothers meet experts, farmers and businessmen who are looking for solutions to continue to develop while bringing about a change from an agricultural country still stuck in illiteracy to a country that is thinking about the education of its young people and the rights of its citizens. At the end of this expedition along the length of the East-African Rift lies Israel. It took our two adventurers 167 days and they covered 13,000 km to complete it. In this country that is half-covered by the Negev desert, the question of water is a burning one. It seems that not one single drop of water is left to the hazards of nature. Our two adventurer brothers try to understand how this country has managed to push back the limits imposed by its environment and establish a Western style of life in the middle of the desert. They end their quest on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. In it they see a symbol of peace in this country that has been able to develop the most sophisticated technologies for water management in the world, but which is struggling to reach agreement on sharing this treasure that it received as a heritage along with its neighbours.
