Vanuatu, paradise in danger

Vanuatu. A tiny patch of earth lost in the middle of Oceania. This archipelago of 80 paradisiacal islands has long remained far apart from our world and has succeeded in preciously guarding its secrets. It’s a veritable Eden, living to the rhythm of its erupting volcanoes, its coral sands lapped by the waves and its inhabitants, fierce guardians of a tradition, “the custom”, that is steeped in magic, witchcraft and even cannibalism. However, fresh siren voices are calling. Those of tourism and modernity. At the capital, Port-Vila, cruise liners sail alongside traditional craft. Property developers have their greedy eyes on the sacred lands of the archipelago. And it’s only a short while since the children of Vanuatu have had to go to school. This is the story of a virgin land suddenly opening up to the world. How is this archipelago in the South Pacific managing its entry into the 21st century? Pascal, the French explorer, Marcel, a future clan chief, Sylvain, the volcanologist, Hilary, the Green mermaid battling global warming, Loïc, the property developer and Mark, the flying doctor… We follow these six key characters at the heart of the “big bang” Made in Vanuatu.

Fishing adventures

On board his catamaran, he takes us to discover sea bass, meagre, pollack but also for a night fishing to catch conger eels and sharks. Paris The artists way - Fouchenneret, Salque & Jouve with Sadeck Waff

Concert filmed on October 25, 2021 at the Petit Palais, Paris Violinist Pierre Fouchenneret and cellist François Salque join forces with the movements of Sadeck Waff, founder of the dance company Géométrie Variable. To the talent of this trio is added that of the guitarist Jéremy Jouve and the pianist Théo Fouchenneret.

Giants of the Basque Country

Cedric Graciet, sea fishing guide in Bayonne, was one of the first to guide in the Bay of Biscay for bluefin tuna fishing. Last year, by chance, Cedric had at the end of the rod of one of his clients a tuna of more than 3 meters. Not at all equipped for fishing these mastodons, he decided for the 2022 season to equip his boat with the necessary equipment (fighting seat, fish tank, fogger, rods and reels). The fishermen who accompany him now only dream of one thing, to fight one of these giants of the Basque Country, the fish of a lifetime.

Declared brain dead at 44, the heartbeat of Denis, resounds more than ever on the passes of the Eastern Pyrenees from October to November, during the migration of the blue bird. A bird he is madly in love with, as much as his native Catalan region and the mountains that surround him. For a month and a half, Denis isolates himself on the Rotja estate and lives to the rhythm of the migratory flows and the friends who come to share intense moments of hunting and conviviality.
