Between the Italian border and that of Albania several countries share the coast along the Balkans: Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia.
As the crow flies, in a straight line, Croatia has 550 kilometres of coastline. However, if you follow the thousands of islands scattered along it, it comes to 4000. It’s a very Mediterranean décor, a mock northern Italy. From Split to Korcula you might imagine each port was a museum. Montenegro too abounds with flattering postcards. The village of Kotor has everything: a real fjord of the southern seas.
