Rapa is located in the most southern part of the Austral Islands. It is the most remote one, without any planes. 

The subject of this film is remoteness, or rather how to survive it, how to reduce it, whilst protecting this island, its nature, the remains of its history and its culture. How can one do so, while remaining a part of the entire French Polynesia, so near and yet so far?

How can one make the children of Rapa, who leave the island for there studies, want to come back to build their lives here, without being cut off from this other world that they have known, far away from the island?

We will try to describe and understand how the Toohitu function, with the Council of Elders, the Earth Guardians, the Language Guardian (who is also a Futsal champion) and how all this is still possible today in the age of internet and globalization. 

We have chosen 3 individuals, who illustrate this permanent effort to both protect and integrate. All different, sometimes with differences of opinion, but all sharing a common passion: Rapa…
